Terms and conditions

Prices are shown in EUR, USD, GBP an DKK. VAT (25% in Sweden) is NOT included in the price. In case of alteration of prices, the price current at the time the customer ordered is applicable. If we discover an error in our pricing we will inform you as soon as possible and you will then be given the option of cancelling or re-confirming your order at the correct price.

To place an order with Rugs of Sweden you must be 18 years old or older. If you are under 18 of age, you will need your parents/guardians signature to act. You also need an active email address and telephone number so that we can reach you.

Order Confirmation
When you have placed an order, an order acknowledgement will be sent to the email address provided. The order number supplied with this acknowledgement should always be used when contacting us regarding your order.


Card Payment

We offer payment via PayPal, an easy and secure payment system where you can use VISA, MasterCard and American Express. Payment via PayPal can be done automatically when you use the shopping cart on our website. About PayPal, see www.paypal.com. Following your order, we will contact you, preferably by email, to confirm your purcase and shipping price.

Advance Payment

If you choose this method of payment, you should not use the “shopping basket” on our website when you order your rug. Once you’ve decided which rug you’d like to buy, send us an email with your request:  info@rugsofsweden.com. Remember to include your name, address, phone number, email address and description (name/number) of the rug. You will then receive an email reply, confirming your order, and the rug will be reserved for you. We will also send information about payment for both rug(s) and shipping costs, and once both parties are in agreement and your payment is registered, the rug will be shipped.

Payment Deadline

If the payment due is not received within 10 days from the date on which the order was placed, the order will be cancelled and the rug put up for sale again.

Method of Delivery

We send orders by parcel post or freight, and we always – in agreement with the customer – choose the best possible shipping form. Preferably also the cheapest!

We disclaim any liability that may arise as a result of any delays caused by shipping carrier. In the event of any unforeseen circumstances, such as lorry breakdown, traffic accident, major traffic delays or severe weather, we will not be responsible for any delayed deliveries due to aarising out of any cause beyond our control.


Depending on the destination your parcel will arrive 3-4 working days after it has been picked up here (destinations in Scandinavia). It takes an estimated 5-7 working days to other destinations in Europe and 7-10 working days for destinations outside Europe.


Once a week all parcels are picked up at Rugs of Sweden in Lammhult, Sweden, and then shipped off to their destinations. We use the Swedish company “Post Nordic” as our carrier. This works fast and secure.

Transport damage

If your package is damaged on arrival, we ask you NOT to accept it. Please ask the carrier to return the package unopened. Kindly to note this on your receipt or the package, befor returning it. All goods are insured against damage and theft.

If on the other hand,  you discover that the product is damaged when you open it, please immediately contact us.


Please remember that you are purchasing an vintage/second hand item (unless you buy a rug characterized as “new woven” in our product information). By definition, vintage items are used. We aim to only sell rugs that are in good condition, clean and odorfree – however this is some times a matter of opinion. We make the very best effort to describe the colours and condition both in writing and by using high resolution, high quality photos.

Return policy

We accept returns of ours rugs if notified within 3 days of receiving the rug. Please contact us a.s.a.p. so that we can make arrangements for the return shipping. The right to return goods applies under the premise that the customer has not damaged the goods. When returning goods please include original documents with the return shipment. When we have received and checked the goods you will receive your refund. If you choose to return a product, you are responsible for ensuring that goods are returned in the same condition as it was originally when shipped out from Rugs of Sweden. Any damages due to incorrect or insufficient packaging will be charged.


We recommend that rag rugs are either washed by hand and air dried or preferably dry cleaned.

Your personal information is securely treated in accordance with applicable provisions of the Swedish law about personal data (PUL, Sweden).


Rugs of Sweden is covered by Swedish law.

How often do we ship out?

Once a week all parcels are picked up at Rugs of Sweden in Berg, Sweden, and will then be on their way to destinations somewhere in the world.

We use the Swedish “PostNord” as our carrier – this works fast and secure.

How soon will your rug reach you?

This of course depends on the destination. After the rugs are picked up it usually takes:

3-4 working days – to Sweden, Denmark, Norway or Finland

5-7 working days – to the rest of Europe

7-10 working days – to countries outside Europe

Shipping prices

Shipping of 1-3 rugs:
Europe – EUR 9.00

All other countries – USD 29.00

Shipping of more than 3 rugs:
Additional shipping fee of USD 5.00 per extra rug (calculated after Order Confirmation and should be payed before shipping).
